TEACHER SPOTLIGHT - MS. DEBBIE

 Debbie is a wonderful addition to Tusculum. She has lived in Nashville, Tennessee her entire life. She has lived in this neighborhood since she was 4 years old, and still does. She went to school at Tusculum Elementary School, McMurray Middle School, and Overton High School. She has been married since she was 18. She has 3 children, Dallas, Dianna, and Rebecca. She has 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

As a child Debbie loved to play with dolls.

In the classroom Debbie enjoys reading and singing songs with the children. She went into childcare because she loves children. She came to Tusculum because she “just got lucky and they had an ad in the paper”. She has been at TCCC for 25 years. She loves all ages and would be fine with any of the classes but she would enjoy working with the toddlers. Something that parents can do to make Debbie’s job easier and more enjoyable is when picking up their child to pick them up and leave rather than letting the children run wild and do the things they are not supposed to do.

                                                      

If Debbie is having a bad day hugs and smiles from the children can really put a smile on her face. Her favorite band is The Beatles. Her favorite movie is Father of the Bride. Debbie likes to watch Ellen, Duck Dynasty, Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and Betrayal. Her celebrity crush is George Clooney. Her favorite food is pizza, Mexican, oatmeal cookies, and brownies with nut. Debbie enjoys reading and loves to watch TV. If Debbie was not a teacher she would probably be at home keeping grandchildren, she used to work at Target and did not like it. If Debbie had some extra money she would buy something for her house or for her grandchildren.

Debbie is an amazing addition to Tusculum. We are so grateful to have Debbie on our team. She is always positive and smiling. We love you Debbie!
