All about some of the TCCC staff

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT - 

LESLEY EATON - Pre K

Lesley is our PreK teacher. She grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. She went to college at UK and EKU. Her major was Early Childhood Education. Lesley is married to John. She is a mama to 2 awesome boys John Ray, 10 and Eli, 7. They also have a dog name Giambi who is 11. Lesley's parents, brother, nieces and Grandmother all live in Kentucky. Growing up Lesley's favorite childhood toys were a football, a kickball and a bike.

If Lesley is having a bad day she likes to talk to her bestie Ms. Leigh. She also likes to hang out outside. Her favorite song is Stay by Florida Georgia Line. Lesley does not have a lot of time to watch movies but she does catch The Following every week. Her celebrity crush is Shemar Moore. Lesley's favorite food is granola, pizza, cheeseburgers, french fries, and avocados. Lesley's hobbies are sports, being outside, and swimming. Usually if Lesley is not at work you can find her cheering on her boys while they are playing sports. If Lesley were not a teacher she would like to learn to cook. If she had some extra money she would do projects around the house and she would take her boys somewhere that they have ne

Lesley  is very calm and always has fun and exciting activities for the children. Lesley has been at TCCC for 8-9 years. She came to Tusculum because a neighbor told her that we were hiring. She hated the thought of being away from her kids during the day so it worked out well. Her favorite thing to do with her class is to read. Lesley is fortunate to have a great group of parents right now. Some things that the parents could do at home to help Lesley is to reinforce listening and following directions. She also likes when the parents drop their children off and leave. Sticking around makes the transition tough on her and the children. If Lesley had to teach another age group she would teach the 3 year old class because she is familiar with the age group.

We are blessed to have Lesley as a part of our staff. She is always looking at the bright side of things and finding the good in every situation. She can make anyone smile or laugh if they are having a bad day. TCCC LOVES LESLEY!!

 Ms. Ebony - Pre School

Ms. Ebony is our new preschool teacher. She has been in child care for 7 years. She loves to be around children because they are fun. She likes the children’s smiling faces. She has 3 children of her own, Huey (6), Houston (5), and Hunter (15 months). She has worked multiple childcare settings, 3 star, Mother’s Day out etc. Her favorite thing to do in the classroom is decorate and teach. For fun Ebony likes to shop and spend time with her kiddos! We are so excited to have Ebony on the TCCC team. We know that she will do great in the three year old class!!   Ebony is a wonderful teacher!

All About Cayde Hooten- toddlers

Tell me about your family-

I am married to my high school sweetheart nad we have two little girls Kaylee (07-23-11) and Samantha (05-09-13)

Why do you want to work which children?

I love teaching and being around kids. I love watching kids grow up. I love fun and older kids!

What is your experience with children?

Not only having two kids but daycare for 6 months and babysitting for over 6 years.

What is your favorite thing to do in the classroom?

I love doing arts and crafts and teaching.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to do anything outdoors and arts and class.

 Ashanti Johnson- TWO Crew

Ms. Ashanti grew up in Murfreesboro and graduated from Siegel High School in 2011.  She grew up with her three brothers.  She is the only girl.  She says her and her siblings are all silly and laid back.  We would agree, Ashanti is laid back, silly and has a great attitude.  When she was a child her favorite thing to do was skate.  Her favorite thing to do these days is hangout with her family and her sweet one year old Junior.   Junior is just a little love bug and when he gets to visit TCCC all the ladies fight over him.  He is sweet, cute, smart and cuddly!

Ashanti has been with TCCC for over two years now but has been in childcare a little over three years.  Like everyone else, she started babysitting of course.  She has always had a passion for children especially infants.  She interviewed at TCCC after starting a childcare job else where.  After interviewing and meeting the staff at TCCC, she knew it was the place for her.  Her favorite things to do with her children is just simply play.  You can find her most mornings sitting on the floor with at least one child in her lap.  The children take to Ms. Ashanti so quickly.  She loves to paint with them as well and watch their funny facial expressions. 

Her love and passion for children, families and education will go a long way.  Ms. Ashanti's attitude and smile will make it easy for the three year olds to fall in love with her.  Please give her a warm welcome to her new classroom when you see her.  TCCC is blessed to have Ms. Ashanti!!

All About Kavut- TWO CREW

Kavut started at Tusculum while doing student teaching. She is a student at Vol Tech to obtain her degree in Early Childhood Education. She wants to work with children because they are so much fun. She loves working with the 3 year olds. In the classroom Kavut loves to play and color. She also likes to do puzzles with the children. Kavut loves to read to the children as well. Since being at Tusculum.

Kavut enjoys the staff, working with different age groups and learning something new every day.

Outside of work Kavut enjoys roller blading, reading, writing, making puzzles, playing cards and shopping.

We really enjoy having Kavut at TCCC. She is great with the children and loves to learn new things. 

Ms. Shelly!! - Transition Room/Front Room

 

TCCC is lucky to have Ms. Shelly!

Ms. Shelly is one of our wonderful toddler teachers!

She has been in childcare for over 6 years and has been with TCCC for over three years.  She did childcare out of her home before coming into the classroom.  She decided to go into childcare because she has a love and passion for children.  She loves that they are honest and their hearts are open.  She loves watching the children grow and is glad she can be a part of it.  Shelly's favorite thing to do with the children in her class is sing and dance.  They love it and the joy on their face is priceless.  She also loves to cuddle and read to them.

Ms. Shelly loves her toddlers but if she had to move classrooms she would enjoy being with the infants.  Ms. Shelly helped out in the infant room when we needed someone to fill in and she was just as wonderful with the infants as she is with the toddlers.  She has a true skill and natural ability to work with children!

Ms. Shelly was in childcare long before she started childcare.  She has been married for 25 years to her husband Doug whom she has 3 children with.  We are lucky enough to know her oldest child, Ms. Adrianne who teaches in our infant class.  Ms. Shelly also has two sons- Sean and Brady.  Ms. Shelly is one of four children herself. She loves her family and is very close to them! She grew up in Nashville and attended Ezell- Harding, Apollo Antioch and Glencliff.

We are more than thankful to have Ms. Shelly on our team!  We thank her for all her hard work, love and dedication!

All about Ms. Kaitlyn- Little ONES/Toddlers

Kaitlyn is the oldest of three sisters.  They grew up in Nashville.  She is engaged to get married to her fiance Travis and will do in November.  She has a two year old son named Kanana who will be joining out TCCC family soon. 

Kaitlyn's favorite thing to do with the children is arts and crafts and anything creative.

For fun Kaitlyn enjoys being a mother.  She likes do anything with her two year old including swimming, going to the zoo and cooking.  When he is sleeping she sneaks in some time online shopping. 

We are glad to have her has a part of the TCCC family!
